Drogba Free Kick

Clueless ··· Sunday 25th November 2012

Benitez today after his first game, 0-0 against Man City:
"At the end of the day they [Chelsea fans] know that they have to support the manager because he's the manager of the team"

Talk about clueless. I was trying to think of an analogy. Installing Jimmy Savile as the bus driver at your kid's school sprang to mind. The parents would HAVE to like the bus driver right? Because the school appointed him as the bus driver! But after thinking some more, I ditched that analogy for various reasons.

One of the things that bugged me when RB was at Liverpool was listening to him in press conferences, and the utter twaddle he spoke. He's already started it at Chelsea. Here's an example when TalkSport (article) asked for his reaction about the boos he received:
"I was not listening to anything, I was just focused on the game, I just focused on my job."

Okay, fair enough. But quelle surprise, it's Planet Benitez where truth is stranger than fiction, and he says later on at the press conference:
"I don't understand eh [what] the people [Chelsea fans] singing so, I was asking someone "what did they say [sing]?"

So were you aware of what the fans said/sung about you or not? You said you weren't because you were "just focussed on the game" - but then you asked someone what the fans said/sung?

Seems like RB is going to continue where he left off at Liverpool press conferences. Spouting drivel, talking in riddles, and being economical with the truth.

Di Matteo Sacked ··· Wednesday 21st November 2012

And there goes another one. Not just anyone though, someome special. Anyone got a tally of how much comp we're having to shell out to these managers not able to fulfill their contracts? Torres would have been free given the amount of cash walking out the door each time. New manager not announced yet. I can't believe the pundits are tipping Benitez. Oh my lawd.

Update: £86million: Chelsea have spent approximately £86million since 2004 in compensation for managers - more than Everton's entire net spend since the Premier League began. Source: DM article

Finally! ··· Sunday 4th March 2012

Finally - AVB has been given the boot! The performance against WBA clearly endorsed it as the correct decision (but 8 managers in 9 years?!). Plenty of candidates on the bookie's lists but for me it's ANYONE BUT THAT BENITEZ TWAT. Thank you.

Chelsea FC - League Champions 2009/2010

Cor, what a cracking way to win the league! Not only did we set our highest league score record with the EIGHT-NIL win over Wigan,
but we set another record for most goals scored in a season, and the Drogs walks away with the Golden Boot for his bootiful hat trick!

Now for the small matter of an FA Cup final next week to make it three trophies in a season :)

Chelsea FC - FA Cup Winners 2008/2009

Well done to the lads in winning the FA Cup! Hopefully something can be done to keep Guus at the Bridge, we know he's a natural winner and can take us far.
Apparently there was a bloke called Scolari managing Chelsea at some point during the season - but I don't remember him at all...

Thanks for everything Guus, you're a legend!
