Gazza       July 03, 2003 at 20:52

Best wished at your new club. Your skills will live forever in my head. You are a true superstar. Thanks for all the good tiomes you gave us at the bridge.

Brittany       July 03, 2003 at 21:01

To one of Chelsea's greatest, if not THE greatest striker to ever play at Stamford Bridge:
You've helped bring Chelsea to where they stand today as one of the top teams in Europe. Good luck in the future.
Notevolmente sarete mancati dai giocatori e dai ventilatori
dappertutto. Arrivederci!

Ian       July 03, 2003 at 21:42

I Just don't know what to say... you were a gift, a gentleman and a genius.

Forza Italia Forza Zola

Adrian Magnussen       July 03, 2003 at 22:23

Forza Italia Forza Zola
:DDD

Paul M       July 03, 2003 at 23:11

The only name my kids have EVER wanted on their shirts. A genius, a gentleman, thank you for everything.

Bunny Aristides       July 03, 2003 at 23:43

I've supported Chelsea since 1959. Gianfranco is the finest player I have ever seen; his skills and vision will remain with me forever as will his warm and humble nature. It has been a rare privilidge to witness this man and it breaks my heart to say goodbye.

jason       July 04, 2003 at 01:07

thanks for the memories franco, you will always be the all time greatest chelsea player

roger (north branch       July 04, 2003 at 06:10

should have hand cuffed him to the goal posts! the one thing that realy stands out amongst anything else that shows what he is all about was at maine road last season
apart from a wonder goal which fooled everyone was when
Franco left the pitch he got a standing ovation from all around the ground including the city players, that's what this guy is. I wish Franco and his famly well in the future. With regret, it's our loss but Caliari's massive gain.

Gee Bee       July 04, 2003 at 06:11

What a wrench to see the master go but life after Franco has to be adjusted to. We will miss the silky skills of the Little Master. Never again will we see those deft touches in a Blue oufit for the greatest club in England. Long may your memory last. Now we have to seek a new rudder to our ship but I am confident we will find a suitable replacement. It is like losing a father to our family through death but the family must cope and adjust itself through all of the hurt.

Long live the Little Master!

David Bowman       July 04, 2003 at 09:18

In the pub before a match last year I was in the loo and a guy came in with a No 25 shirt on. Instead of Zola, the name said Jehovah. That just about says it all.

Good luck Franco.....we'll all miss you and it hurts like hell.

Vishaal Shah       July 04, 2003 at 09:24

He was the single most greatest legend of Chelsea, a player who represented chelsea for it is, Commitment, Hard Work, Determination, and transformed the team into the force it is today. He is the greatest all round player of all time. He is the Star of Legends. Good Luck, and hopefully one day he will come back and lead Chelsea once again into greater times.

rob       July 04, 2003 at 10:24

Many thanks Gianfranco for the time you were at chelsea.
It was a pleasure coming up to the bridge from south west wales and see you perform on the pitch and the way you performed as a true blue proffessional off the pitch.
Thanks again and good luck to you and your family.

regards
Rob

David Jakobsen       July 04, 2003 at 11:20

drutz       July 04, 2003 at 11:27

I was always a fan of Italian football, as well as a TRUEBLUE, and when I heard that Franco was coming to the bridge I was overjoyed. The last seven years have given me delight watching Franco weave his magic and he will be sadly missed by all Chelsea fans. Good luck for the future maestro, and thanks for the memories.

john       July 04, 2003 at 11:50

You owe us nothing we owe you everything !!! you are magic.

FD       July 04, 2003 at 12:21

Until 1996 I was a non-believer. I know now there is a God.

Forza Gianfranco!

Mooch       July 04, 2003 at 13:29

Thanks Franco for making me a very happy person! If you only realised how many peoples lives you have affected, you would be a very proud man. The day I was in the pub last season watching the Cup game against Norwich and you scored 'that' goal! All my mates congratulated me as if I had scored it! You have everyones utmost respect!

Enjoy your final season in Italy and come home soon!

Mooch

For All The Times I Sat Front Of The Tv And Watched The Greatest Do All His Party Tricks, I Wondered If I'll Be Like Him In The Future.

To Praise The Idol Which Unfortunately I Had The Least Time In Watching, Is Like Having That Kind Of Feeling In Which I Just Like To Sit And Cry For Hours.

Well For All The Time i Had The Opportunity Of Praising, Farewell Great Idol.

Rug Dougvie       July 05, 2003 at 14:29

Started by nut-megging Julian "skinhead" Dicks and seven years later finished with half the Liverpool team trying to get the ball off him in a space the size of a phonebox.

ZOLAPOWER.

Good luck, god-bless and thank you.
